This is a very useful resource for thinking about module systems. The 'puzzle' the authors pose is quite amusing: modules are supposed to be good for building large software systems, but advanced module systems are offered by academic, rather than by main-stream production languages. How come?
The talk touches on interfaces, separate development, representation hiding, genericity, etc.
