For anyone interested in finding some of the quirks in the Java Language Spec and JVM, the Spec Report is a good place to look.
And as long as I'm bagging on Java, I mind as well give the link for A critique of Java which also explores design issues (and gives my favorite example of the one leg duck with two feet).
