Apparently I'm not the only one out there that thinks that Clean offers some features that could be useful in Haskell. Seems that Peter Achten and Simon Peyton Jones are in the middle of trying to port the Clean GUI libraries over to Haskell. The link gives some of their preliminary findings and provides some interesting thoughts about meshing the Unique environment I/O method of Clean into the Haskell monad way of doing things.
