J for C programmers |
I don't have the time to check this right now, but since I am great fan of Iverson and J (anyone who comes up with a phrase like notation as a tool for thought earns a gold LtU membership), I must mention this on the homepage.

I looked at a few pages, and this book seems to be well written.
I think the title is a bit misleading. This book should be useful to anyone trying to learn J.
(If you just want to know why I find J cool, go directly to the chapters about tacit programming)

I agree with you about the title. I think the angle is mostly that tacit programming is held back for a long time, maybe too long, whereas in Iverson's papers he jumps into tacit definitions up front (and never mentions the "other" way at all). The official J tutorials take a middle ground.
