Clean and Haskell compared
A well written and unbiased comparison of two important functional languages.

LtU readers should know by now that I am not a great fan of language comparisons and critiques, as these are often misleading, inflammatory and fruitless. Not this one though.

If you are having problems accessing the online papers and the clean book (like I did) then try the web server at:

http://www.cs.kun.nl/~clean/download/papers/cleanbook/

The links on the web pages point to an ftp site:

ftp://ftp.cs.kun.nl/pub/Clean/papers/cleanbook/

and the "ftp server requires a valid e-mail address as password." I was told this by the web site administrator and it seems to work.
