(Didn't think it was worth a FPP, given the coverage F# has already had here.)

I really enjoyed this post from /.:

While I like ML (whole family) so much more than any imperative legacy (Java, C++, C, Perl), I see the main problem that any ML has with for modern RAD and with scripting is its static typing. And that's why I like (more than ML) Haskell [haskell.org] - it's dynamically typed and thus it's much more appropriate both for operating scripting and for big app RAD.

This was moderated to 5: Informative.

it's dynamically typed

I saw that too, and I had to laugh. I've only spent about thirty minutes going through a tutorial on Haskell (thanks to Frank), but it was painfully obvious that Haskell is statically typed. It was probably Haskell's type inference that threw off the original poster.

What scares me is how they assert to have experience with Haskell and make such a fundamental mistake.

Shame there weren't links to SML.Net

I was going to, but there were already some responses that pointed out the error. Unfortunately, none of them were modded up.

It was probably Haskell's type inference that threw off the original poster.

I don't think so. The poster claimed to have experience with ML too, and ML does type inference just like Haskell.
