I posted a pointer to Pan in January. Since then I've been working on a derivative - Pancito.
The documentation [ps] [pdf] is aimed at new users to Haskell (because I am a new user - I just wrote down what I had learned). It includes hints on using the language and fairly precise instructions on compiling images with ghc.
