The content of this field is private and only visible to yourself

Why do fields like Interests and Biography say they are private and only visible to yourself? What is the point of these fields if they are not public? I know my own biography, why do I need to cache a private version of it on LtU?

I made both fields public. If this causes a problem for anyone (I don't see why it should), let me know.

While we're on the subject...

I notice that "public key" is also not publicly viewable -- which, again, seems contrary to its use.
