Due to issues with spam accounts I have suspended the creation of new accounts. New members cannot sign up for an account at the moment. I apologize for the inconvenience.

LtU now closed for the public

I think you've slightly overdone it. When I visit the LtU front page while logged out, I get an access denied error.

The issues were indeed

The issues were indeed unrelated. A database table had to be cleared and wasn't.
We are now back to were we were before this crash: New user creation is suspended until we work out a system that can cope with the onslaught of spam accounts. People who want to join should for the time being email me.
