Alexandre Bergel has received his M.Sc degree from the University of Nice-Sophia Antipolis, France, and his Ph.D degree from the University of Bern, Switzerland, in 2005. He then stayed at Trinity College Dublin, Ireland, until mid 2007. A. Bergel is currently a research fellow at the Hasso-Plattner-Institut, in Germany.

My research interests include languages and tools to support component-oriented and aspect-oriented software development. The following set of keywords is of my interest: Software Engineering, Object-Oriented Programming, Language Design, Aspects-Oriented Programming, Reflection, Modules, Teaching OO, Mixins, Traits, Classboxes, Scheme, Smalltalk, Java, Ruby and Embedded systems.
