Lambda the Ultimate

Emerged in 1981. I started playing with BASIC as a young teen, but joined the industry (in 1999) writing client and server-side javascript for web applications. Eventually, to pay the bills, I was forced to switch to C#. I really miss javascript.

At some point I was struck by lightning and became an obsessive-compulsive polyglot. I love learning new languages, especially dynamic languages (eg: ruby, Io, javascript, common lisp, scheme). I recently began a cursory examination of smalltalk and factor (factor is a very interesting language). I have essentially no experience with well-tailored statically-typed languages (any suggestions on a _practical_ statically-typed language to try learning would be greatly appreciated). I have very little formal math or programming language training.

I am also obsessed with studying philosophy and history. And my wife.
